It started with a dog named Tucker.
When our founder Daniel's Labrador, Tucker, started slowing down at four years old, the vet's verdict was blunt: he was 22% over a healthy weight, and it was quietly straining his joints and heart. Daniel had followed the bag guidelines to the letter. That was the problem.
Those guidelines — "feed 2 to 3 cups a day" — are written for an imaginary average dog. Tucker wasn't average. No pet is. Getting him healthy again meant weighing food to the gram, tracking calories against real veterinary formulas, and adjusting every few weeks. It worked. Tucker dropped the weight and got his spark back — but doing it by hand was miserable and error-prone.
